Forums Not Showing; Forums don't show on the Board Index

 Help! My forums are not showing when I add them in Admin CP!

There are 2 ways that you can fix this:

Using Permission Masks:

  • Login to Admin CP
  • On the left frame: Under Forum Control, click Permission Masks
  • On the right frame: Next to the permission mask you wish to edit (by default, these are your user groups), click on Edit
  • Check the boxes Read, Reply, Start, and Upload if you wish to allow them access (Read), reply to topics (Reply), and start new topics (Start) for each forum. Continue down the list until you have completed seting up the permissions.
  • Click Update Forum Permissions when you are all done.
  • Repeat this process for every other permission mask that you have.
The other way you can do this, is By Forum:

  • Login to Admin CP
  • On the left frame: Under Forum Control, click Manage Forums
  • On the right frame: Next to your first forum, click Permissions
  • Now place a check in the box for Read, Reply, Start, and Upload if you wish to allow them access (Read), reply to topics (Reply), and start new topics (Start) for that permission mask (or use All current and future permission masks to turn them all on at once).
  • When you are done, click Edit this forum.
  • Repeat this process for every other forum you have.
A list of what Read, Reply, Start, and Upload mean:

Read = Can view the forum and it's topics/posts
Reply = Can reply to topics
Start = Can create new topics
Upload = Can upload files to posts (more info)


SUGGESTION: I suggest that you leave all the boxes for the "Banned" permission mask left UNCHECKED.
