I've been curious but not sure about trying the Website Maker out? What does it do? Does it produce a website that looks like Zetaboards? Does it use a url that's related to the Board? Thanks! Zed |

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

It produces a page with the same background as your board. On that page you can use HTML to construct the content of your page in any fashion you would like. You have the option in your ACP to add your new web page link to your submenu. Your page will have a unique URL you can redirect to for other purposes. More specific information can be found in the ZetaDoc: http://docs.zetaboards.com/acp/board/webpage?s=website%20maker |

I would like to ask some more questions about the website maker. I understand the website maker to be a tool which allows the background of the forum to be used as the starting point for a website. The website can be built with html code for the content. There's a description of the Page ID and the Page Title. Your description advises choosing a memorable Page ID so users can remember it easily. What does users refer to in this case? Then it adds that the Page ID should relate to the Page Title. I understand the Page Title to be the identifier aspect of the URL. Is it recommended to use the same portion of the URL which is already being used for the forum? Could you show me an example of how the website URL would look? Also, can a domain be directed to the website once it's built? Thanks for your help. Zed

Users are basically members, visitors, anyone who visits your board essentially. An example of a webpage URL is this: http://resources.zetaboards.com/pages/newsletter/ |

Thanks so much for your reply. Sorry it took me so long to come back to this. What I'm wondering is if I can use this as the basis for a website that is compatible (in appearance) with the forum and then add further pages, or if there is a restriction for it to be a single page? Also, if I create a webpage in this way, is it possible to direct our domain to it (which I'm not currently doing with the forum)? Thanks very much! Zed |

Quantum-locked when observed.

You can add as many pages as you want using the Website Maker and create links between them. However, it is not designed to be a fully-featured website creator or a replacement for a robust, dynamic website. Notably, you cannot create a hierarchy of pages: that is, you can have /pages/foo but not /pages/foo/bar.
Domains can only be associated with websites. You would be creating individual pages, which along with your board form one website. You can set a particular webpage as your board’s homepage (you can also do this with the portal) and then associate your domain with your board. When people browse to your domain, they will see that page first. |
