peteh, on which site have you searched? here on the http://if.invisionfree.com forum the search function works perfect , but on all other s1 zetaboards forums it's not working. Edited by Bizzy, Nov 1 2009, 09:57 AM.

ok thx peteh, so this isn't just me who is having these problems... Yes it seems like the server outage has caused that the search function isn't working anymore on s1 zetaboard forums. Edited by Bizzy, Nov 1 2009, 10:06 AM.

I can verify that search on S1 ZB boards is not working at the moment. I've reported this in the staff area, which should get Brandon or Brian his attention, which should lead to this getting fixed. Regarding boards under the old threshold, I think all boards (on one server) are using the same search system - having two of them doesn't really seem like a great idea to me. Regarding search working here, this board is on S2, not S1. (All boards converted from IF S1 go to ZB S2.) Update: Search should be working again on S1 boards. (It is on my test board at least.) In addition to Jory's post, please remember that this new system is experimental. There may be a variety of problems with it that we can not foresee until the problems actually occur. There's a great reason why we've limited the number of servers the search can be used on. In any case, thank you for your patience.

Search is now functioning OK on our forum - It had been working for some time as we were well below the cut off in terms on posts etc |

yes it's working again, thx for fixing it. Sadly the "new" search function also does not search for the words in the topic title or topic description. |

I believe Brandon mainly wants to test if the way of searching he implemented now works decently and is fast. If it all works out fine, adding new fields to those that are being searched shouldn't be to big an issue. So while I'm not 100% sure, I'm pretty confident we'll be able to search titles, descriptions and tags in the future. |

There is also another problem with the "new search" I just noticed when searching on s1 zetaboard forums (also here on this support forum). If you try to search for words that have been recently posted in new posts, the search function shows up No Results. Even if the posts are already a few days old, the search still doesn't show up any results. So it seems the search function does not index any further words... Before the new "search update" I could directly search for words in new posts and it worked fine. Edited by Bizzy, Nov 5 2009, 03:44 AM.

I just noticed that the search function only shows up words that have been posted before 17 October 2009 All other words posted after this day are not shown by the search function. |
