My domain name registered fully early yesterday, and I immediately created the CNAME record in WHM, pointing it at z3.invisionfree.com. However, it is still not working! Getting the same error as everyone else, with regards to having to create a CNAME record. Hosting company: http://www.axishost.com Domain name: http://www.fugitivegeneration.com Board: http://z3.invisionfree.com/fugitive_generation Screenshot of DNS zone in WHM: ![]() Any idea where I am going wrong? Thanks in advance for the help. |

I'm a tad confused. Why are you pointing it to z3.invisionfree.com.fugitivegeneration.com? Remove fugitivegeneration.com from the latter part of it. ![]() Jonathan[/b] |

The DNS zone is automatically adding .fugitivegeneration.com on the end, and my hosts have now made the switch to /fugitivegeneration.com as the appendix, stating that this should work. However, they are having a few issues actually understanding what I need to do, it would appear. Any further suggestions? Edited to add: They have advised me that it now points at z3.invisionfree.com - however, in my DNS zone, it just points at invisionfree.com and every time I try to change it, it adds on the domain name at the end. Would it be worth pointing it at the IP instead, and, if so, do you please know the IP for Server 3? Thanks! Edited by Anise76, Oct 11 2009, 04:34 PM.

My hosts have now pointed the domain at z3.invisionfree.com and we still have the same problem - getting the error message "Index of / cgi-bin/ Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.fugitivegeneration.com Port 80" whenever the domain is accessed. Am unable to find the domain in domain manager, getting the standard error re: the domain not being pointed. I am absolutely clueless from here, as it seems that everything has been completed correctly. It's not helping that there are two separate people working on it from my webhost, and they are working against each other, it would seem! Should I be asking them to point the host IP at server 3 as well? Thanks in advance! |

A few domain hosts do require both, so you could try and see if setting up an A-record pointing your domain to the IP Address would work as well. Jonathan |

Thanks, have requested they try that for me. Will keep you posted - I really appreciate your help! Thanks for the help - adding the A-record resolved the issue, just waiting for the domain to fully propagate now! You're a star!
