Is there something wrong with IF and ZB??? I go on the inernet with my schools computers if you put anything with invisionfree it blocks the site, but zetaboards is unblock. On my moms phone anything with zetaboards is blocked and invisionfree is unblock! Whats going on? I made my zetaboard site so I can go on it on the schools and my moms phone but its blocked! Is there something wrong with IF and ZB? This is really annoying. |

At schools, sites are blocked to prevent kids from doing things that aren't educational, i.e. social networks, i.e. Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, chat rooms, and forums. I find that while InvisionFree is blocked completely, ZetaBoards is not that well known and thus hasn't been blocked by the usual school filters. As for your mom's phone, I don't know if she has some sort of filter on it, as it may just be a simple problem with the networking capabilities. |

That's really too bad. Once you get to a postsecondary school hopefully it will be different. On our university you can basically access any site you can in a typical home network. |

In many libraries in the UK ALL Forums are blocked and a message appears that "You seems to be trying to use a chat service which we do not permit, if you think this is wrong please contact whoever@whichever.com |

My phone is stupid if I look up the word couple it blocks it. I have no idea why my moms phone is blocking every site at random. 1st it was narutofan,naruto-boards,certain parts of my site, and yaoiai(which is unblocked at my school to sure we can't use invisionfree but can go to yaoiai! That so much bull.) |

A site about yaoi isn't exactly school-appropriate, though, and it doesn't run on IF, but the expensive vBulletin software. |

As others have mentioned, some times a network admin or IT department a a school or library will block certain types of sites. It sounds like that is the case with your situation. One option you may have is using a custom domain to access your board. |

I was going to ask the same question. I have an IF board with nearly 3000 memebers and have now been up and running for over 3 years. I don't really want to convert over, simply because i don't have the time re-build a theme etc over to ZB so it works. Infact i won't be converting until the boards are able to be converted in one fell swhoop, themes, skins the lot. |

I don't condone this . . . . . . if you can reach a major search engine on your computer, you can search for "proxy server free" and use a proxy to circumvent the block. |

you can acsess blocked sites at school by going to <snip>. Please do not advertise any board, website, or service via PM, topic, post, or anywhere else on this board. Edited by Will, Nov 16 2009, 12:27 PM.

Heh, I'm not. Don't go on your board when you're at school. Easiest solution there is. |

I had a board for a study group, and we often kept our notes and ideas online (years and years and years ago). One day my school blocked it and it sucked. Then I started playing soccer. Hmm... |
