I just wanted to give some feedback on Zetaboards. I'll start with saying that i've been a user of Zathyus forums for a long, long time and i've very rarely, if ever came across a major problem. From registering my first board to registering my latest, it's been very easy for me to set up a reliable, exceptional forum. I must give credit to all those who have put, and continue to put a lot of work into Zetaboards, and Zathyus for that matter. The fact that's it's free too is outstanding - considering how easy it is for the administrator to set up, and all the features you have available.

I've tried a lot of different software, and I must say, Zetaboards comes out on top for me. I'm a huge fan of Invision Power Board, but the fact they charge a lot for a license gives Zetaboards the award. Though talking about money, I think I may even purchase Zetaboards Premium soon anyway, considering it's cheaper than an IPB license and it'll hopefully help Zetaboards improve even more with the donation.

The only things i'd like to see improved is the speed of the server (seems to be S1) - it lags a lot for me. I'm not sure if it's my connection or if it is just the server being slow, but it's quite annoying when posting that you have to wait several minutes spamming the add reply button to find that you've posted 120 times of the same post. (Okay, so I exaggerate a little, but you get the idea). I'm not sure how possible this is anyway.

Additionally, the restoring boards process (i'm aiming more towards topics and posts), I think it'd be better if more people got control of this feature. Therefore not having to wait for the 2 very busy administrators to read your ticket sometime in 2012 when the world will end (well, it's meant to anyway, but that's a different topic all together).

All in all, I will continue to use Zetaboards, spread the name of Zetaboards and love Zetaboards, I just thought i'd throw in a couple of things to discuss whilst I was giving you positive feedback. Start good, end good though, right?

Syndicate.

Very well said, I too believe one of the biggest flaws Zathyus has is that only a very few people, the admins, can do most of the things such as restoring a board as you mentioned. These kinds of stuff are the things that needs be done instantly instead of waiting several months for a reply or an action to be done. I'm not familiar with the company that much but I believe if they educated a few more staff members to deal with some of the more important stuff around Zathyus they'd benefit of it a lot seeing as how busy the admins seem to be (hearing from all the community staff's who says so). Also they wouldn't have to deal with users who complain about the time it takes for them to have something done and they can focus on other important issues.

Thank you for the feedback, we are glad you are enjoying using the service.

The situations with restorations is unfortunate, but it is for the security of your data that only Brian and Brandon have access to the databases, which contain thousands of email addresses and other confidential information.
I have never had a problem with any server speed personally, but if you could ping the server and paste the results here, we may be able to see if the problem is on your end.
To do this in windows, Start -> Run, type cmd in the box and hit return, then type ping -n 20 s1.zetaboards.com in the command line and hit return.
If you then paste the last 4 lines in here, it should look like this:
Quote:

Ping statistics for 209.85.62.21:
Packets: Sent = 20, Received = 20, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 131ms, Maximum = 1705ms, Average = 216ms

It must indeed just be my internet connection at peak times. Thank you for the help on this.

As for the privacy of information, I can definitely understand that also, although I, as a customer, would be happy for additional members to access my information (i'm definitely not speaking for everyone here, as I know for sure there will be some against that).

Thanks again for the reply Tim, and you too Santa Nasir.

If you do have a problem, you could try running a tracert to see where the problem lies. It's the same procedure as above, except the command you run is "tracert s1.zetaboards.com" instead of the ping one.
Post in this topic or PM me about it and I will take a look for you.
