But everyone speaks English. Or they should do.  OcelotJay is curious how one "holds out" a sound. Anyhoo, at the moment the biggest thing grinding my gears is stats. In the world of business - especially in government - everything has become about statistics: productivity through figures, goals and work objectives based on arbitrary estimates and averages. It's pretty frustrating when you've had a stressful day full of horrendous problems, screaming customers and complex cases that would be better off being consumed by a black hole only to have some simple, elf-like fool - whose only claim to experience is being taught how to manage a team - tell you off for "not showing commitment" with low stats. I think I'm going to be committing my steel toecaps to something fleshy real soon.

You know what really grinds my gears? When people send 1 word text messages in the middle of a conversation. It leaves you with no way to continue the conversation. That really grinds my gears. |
