I somehow doubt that :P

Disney didn't stifle Pixar when they bought them, and I doubt they'll stifle Marvel. Disney itself has too much on their hands to worry about putting Zac Efron in as many movies as possible. :P

Oh, also, my uncle is celebrating -- he owns Marvel stock. I'm jealous ><

This worries me but I don't think they'll try to ruin any Marvel characters. Though I bet Zac Efron will be making his appearances. :ermm:

Over Stan Lee's dead body.

Remember, Disney wants to draw in more male fans. So Spider-man the musical won't do it. And don't expect people to flock to see Miley Cirus as Ms. Marvel. It won't happen. More likely, this will mean that more money can be invested in the lesser hero movies so they actually turn out good. :P

Disney and Gates should start dating, what with all of their common interests. Both seem to be investing time and money into things they shouldn't bother with. Disney was great when I was 2, but now it's just.... well, I hate it. Hate it. >=( If the next Marvel movie falls to shambles because of this I will be refusing ticket service to anyone affiliated with the project. Yes I'll be asking at the beginning of each ticket. "Did you help make ____ ? Oh you did? Good lord. Bye now." :glare:

Pretty sure you like Disney, but not the main asset which is based around children. I wouldn't worry too much.

They're like Google, but instead of the Internet they control your television and movie theaters.

Highly unlikely with DC still going very strong.

DC Comics currently have:

-The Dark Knight, Watchmen and other movies in development (Green Lantern being the biggest right now)
- Arkham Asylum
- Blackest Night
- Multiple Direct to DVD from Bruce Timm (most recent: Green Lantern and Batman/Superman Public Enemies)
- Batman: The Brave and the Bold
- Smallville

DC is still quite the competitor. And when you consider other publishers like Dark Horse who have 4 Star Wars titles that sell very nicely, it's pretty easy to see why Marvel, who has frequently gone up and down in finances, has made this deal. They have had 1 truly successful movie in the past two years with Iron Man. The Hulk didn't live up to expectations and Spider-Man 3 was terrible in the eyes of many. Wolverine: Origins was a train wreck everyone saw coming and when it leaked out on April Fools, so too did a lot of money people would have blown on that terrible movie. On the tv front, they are just really hitting their stride with Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men. And in Comics, they had quite the backlash for the "One More Day" storyline that had fans of Spider-man boycotting marvel comics in general.

It's not been a great year for Marvel when you look hard at publishing and at movies other than Iron Man 2. Thor just finally started moving. Deadpool is sort of hanging out there and very few really truly want to see Wolverine 2. The Magneto movie has been hush hush and no movement has occurred for some time. Their strongest seller right now lie in tv and toys. So it makes sense that they would jump at a merge with Disney. And I don't see any harm like the microsoft monopoly this time.
