 The ZetaBoards® Shoutbox is now available to all ZetaBoards® forums with active Premium. The shoutbox can be turned on and set up on the "ZetaBoards Premium" section of your Admin CP. We have put together a quick user guide to the shoutbox for anyone wishing to try it out on the board.

This is the first feature to be released as a sneak preview to ZetaBoards Premium boards. It will remain an exclusive preview for Premium boards for at least 2 weeks. If you start using the shoutbox now, your messages will be kept once the preview ends and the feature is released.


The default height of the shoutbox area is 150 pixels when it is on the board front page. You can adjust the height by adding

to the end of your themes' CSS.

We intend to add additional features, settings, and functionality to the shoutbox in the final release as well as in later updates.
We are already evaluating adding:
- An adjustable flood control limit. (Current setting is 10 seconds).
- If the shoutbox is on the board front page, allowing it to be collapsed/expanded.
- Additional locations beyond the portal and board front page as well as allowing it on both pages at the same time.
- Guest posting.
- Per-group permissions.
- And more. :ph34r:

Known issues:
- The Archive doesn't refresh to remove a message after a moderator clicks (X). The message is successfully removed though.
- If you click the refresh link, the posts in the box will switch to non-relative times.
- The Archive displays all messages on a single page and will get long after many messages have been posted.
