How come Firefox's ability to search for words or phrases is case-sensitive? If I remember correctly, it wasn't always like that.

It isn't... what version are you using?

I was able to search 'msn' and it found your signature perfectly.

FF3.0.11.

I've tried it again and it is definitely as I've said. Searching "Firefox" snaps to the word. Using "FIREFOX" or any other variation doesn't give me any results.

When you hit Ctrl + F, is the box marked Match Case checked?

Also, you should try upgrading to the new version, 3.5.

Caveat.....not a good idea to upgrade if you are running Windows XP....it is not totally compatible with FF 3.5. Causes slow loading of pages and other annoyances. As far as I know, those bugs haven't been fixed yet, although a fix has been promised.

I'm running XP and there's definitely no problem for me.

Guess you are one of the lucky ones...yay. There are help topics all over the place about the XP issues, so it's affecting a number of users.

To be honest you're the first (and only) person I've heard is having problems with it, and Google doesn't seem to give any results that pertain to what your problems are. :-/

Same here. No problems running Firefox 3.5 on XP at all. I have it installed both XP computers at home and work.

I hate when random glitches happen only to me. :P (This comment is about programs in general, not Fx.)

Hmm it happens to me as well, and I'm on Vista - it seems to load the page twice and on the second time it takes 10+ seconds. Also, firebug keeps telling me to reload the page for it to work...............

Could be a question of RAM...or else just a slow connection...I haven't got it installled yet, I'll report back when I do.

I did notice one problem in Firefox after 3.5 - the Google search snaps to page 1 occasionally when I click on some other page (the link is actually wrong, if you read the URL). I haven't had this problem last week when I was away in a place that used 3.0.
