Can you describe how you "lost your root admin"?

If you forgot the password to user #1 (the true root account) then the most you can do is password recovery. IF is not going to give you the password to an account you can't prove is yours though.

If you can't recover your password that way, send a support ticket and explain the problem.

Well i didn't actually lose my password. It's a clan forum, and the former Vice leader of the clan was root admin. But he left the clan 2 years ago, but before he left, he made me root admin. But now Im just an ordinary Admin, and yeah. i really need the root admin powers back.

If the owner left the board and wanted you to replace him as the new owner, he should've given his Member #1 account - the owner account.

Otherwise you'll have to just use the board with what you've got or use a new board.

Use a new board? Are you serious? I've got 10,800 posts on that site, im not gonna give up 3 years of memory.

@Tony: Yeah, I can still log in the admin panel, but not as root admin.

Being placed in the ROOT group does not make you the board owner, if that's what confuses you.

If you want to be the official board owner admin, find the original owner somehow and ask him to give you the account. If you're able to find him and have him do so, follow these steps:

1) Announce the account change to the board so the members aren't confused.
2) Tell him to remove any sensitive information, such as e-mail address.
3) Tell him to change password to something that you can remember but isn't used anywhere else for him. Then get the password using a secure method, such as PM, and then change the password again when you get the account.

Member #1 is the one that can delete the board and change the default board URL, and no one else can edit it. You should be able to do everything else even if you don't have this account.
