[Solved] Validating member goes into wrong member group

Member Posts: 25 Group: Members Member #133,364 Joined: October 20, 2006 My Board URL http://z13.invisionfree.com/Earth_Bound_Hell	When a member registers on the forum, I manually approve each new registration using the Admin CP where you just click "approve" and it automatically puts the validating member into the wrong member group. So, that person actually has access to more of the forum than he/she should until I have gone into the "find/edit/suspend user" to place them in the correct member group. How do I direct the process so that the validating member goes into the correct member group? Retired Soliloquist Posts: 2,928 Group: Members Member #54,295 Joined: May 14, 2005 I'm Browsing With Firefox 3	What is your default Members group? All validated users should automatically go there. Check your Admin CP to see which is your default Members group; there are 4 default groups - Admin (it says ROOT next to it), Guests, Members, Validating. If your board has a tier system, where new members are placed in one group and more veteran members in another, the first group should be the default Members group. You should make a different group for your regular members.

Did not realize that I had to create a new group for the members so that the junior members would go into the default "members" group. I had renamed all the groups and confused myself more trying to figure out why validated members were going into the wrong group and the solution is actually quite simple
