And no, 3.1 and 3.11 were not an OS, they were more like a shell, or GUI for DOS.

Or Total Commander. I liked the system, especially the Solitaire (and playing using the keyboard). I still have 3.11 at my laptop, as well as FDDs for installing the Win 3.1 and M$ Works for Win 95. Liked the File Manager as well as always clean desktop and PaintBrush.

Never worked with 3.1 in my life. My PC experienced started as far back to the days of Win95 only.

Deskmate on Tandy DOS 2.1 on a 1000-HX here, and upgraded it with an aftermarket overpriced 65 Mb external hard drive less than a month after I bought it.

Deleted User started with a TRS-80, then a Commodore 64.

I was happy to upgrade to 95, though I don't particularly remember why.

I'm only 18, so the first computer I can remember had Win 95. I thought it was amazing, especially this game I used to play all the time called Putt-Putt (I can't find anything about the game I had, but it was this character).

Then, of course, things only got better.

Then, of course, Vista popped up and ruined the trend.

-IMP ;) :)

I did have a Windows 3.1 computer, but it was so old, it wasn't good for anything. I don't have it anymore. It is the only way people could do Closed Captioning for many years, on MSDOS mode anyway.

I very clearly remember using it on a black and white screen. I discovered visual basic then :)

I also remember my dad showing me yahoo on the internet and later when my primary school got the internet, encouraging us to use it. The first site we browsed had something to do with the Simpsons, and I had concluded in the back of my head that the internet was utterly useless. I also remembering thinking mobile phones were unnecessary luxury items for the new gadget lovers and the rich. Good god how the world has changed since I was a young lad!

I know I used Windows 3.1 but was really too young to remember much... although I did use DOS to play Wolfenstine 3D (that game rocks your socks) I remember using Windows 95 and playing Ski-free, Hover!, and tyrian 2000
