I always use Colorzilla to grab colors if I forget a border color or to grab an ID or class name quickly. I also use firebug for quick edits and Web Developer if I need to add to the CSS before actually editing the CSS. |

ColorZilla is extremely helpful for me as well because Photoshop takes forever to start up. I can't remember the last time I have used it though XD . |

I have Web Developer, but saying I use it would be a bit of an exaggeration as I don't understand most of it. I also use ColorZilla, and Color Cop (not an add-on). And FoxReplace, and multiple tabs of virtual Nicola. |

FOS, the main thing I use with Web Developer is Outline->Outline Current Element. It shows you the name and DOM path of each element. I also like Outline Custom Elements. You can see all of the divs on a page. Helps if you lose something, or need to see why an element isn't aligning properly. The toolbar also gives you a bunch of handy shortcuts like clear cache and things like that. |

Nice feature - I just tried it, and it's far more comprehensive than ColorZilla's similar feature. Yeah, I use the toolbar for temporarily disabling JavaScript, and to get around annoyances like MySpace pages with all of the standard features hidden.

Not really (other than what's in the right click menu, of course). When I was converting our IF skin into a ZB theme, I'd keep finding areas that I needed to change but didn't know where to look for them in the CSS. Sometimes ColorZilla would give me the answer or at least a clue, sometimes not. The Web Developer feature Dennis mentions above was exactly what I really needed, and would've saved me countless hours if I'd have known about it at the time. I like Color Cop for grabbing colours. It's a doddle to use, you can drag it around the screen to wherever you want, and because it's stand-alone you can have it on screen when you're ready to open Photoshop or PSP, etc. too. |

I have never used FireBug, ColorZilla, or Webdevloper in my life. In fact, never even considered trying it. Perhaps I should though, I tend to take the hard way around. I still finish my themes rather quickly now but I can always finish faster. But yeah, some useful things here. It shouldn't take you too long to start theming. Keep the strive, hopefully you'll even come to enjoy doing it despite the length of the CSS. ![]() Edited by Arianna, Jun 29 2009, 08:04 PM.

If ElementalAlchemist ever needs that, ElementalAlchemist just uses Opera Dragonfly and a color picker plasmoid for KDE.

I use ColorZilla to snag colours and also grab the ID and class names for things. It outlines them in a red dotted line and the name appears on the status bar.
Yeah, I use the toolbar for temporarily disabling JavaScript, and to get around annoyances like MySpace pages with all of the standard features hidden.
I still finish my themes rather quickly now but I can always finish faster.
