Yeah, I figured as much.
It's been well over 6 months since I installed Windows, which is usually about the time Bill's permanently Beta garbage software starts bugging out so bad that I start over, but I've had other things on my mind.

I've also had my friend try to figure it out, and he has a graduate degree in computers, worked at Intel for a decade, started and ran his own DSL ISP, and has several years' experience as a network systems analyst and consultant or whatever the hell he calls it, and he hasn't been able to figure it out, though he tends to get distracted and loses patience, especially since I'm not paying him.

I suppose it could be a side effect of (or intentionally antagonist part of) some illegal government malware the Feds snuck onto my system that no removal tools will detect or remove...

More likely windows. I don't think the US government is incompetent enough to introduce secret software that breaks people's browsing making itself more likely to be found. That said, if the last eight years are anything to go buy, I might be mistaken!

Phrank, did you ever do the Window's Repair?

1. Boot to the Windows Installation Disc.
2. Press "Enter" at the first set of options.
3. Press "F8" to accept the terms.
4. Press "R" to repair the selected Windows installation.
