We are currently not processing requests to restore deleted content. Offline boards and missing e-mails are some issues that Brian can address, but we simply don't have the man-power to deal with deleted content (as only Brandon is capable of doing them). Will |

Nothing's happened to Brandon, he's still about doing what he does. What Will meant was that only he can deal with restorations - only he has the access to restore deleted content. Brandon has a lot of work ongoing for Zathyus Networks, and there isn't scope to take time away from everything else to process restorations.

I didn't say that at all. I wrote:In other words, we don't have the people necessary to complete the task at hand. It's not a financial issue, it's a time constraint issue. |

If you have a look at the moderating team list, you will notice 2 more Admins here. What they are saying is NO, not even Brian or Stephen can help Brandon with this. Sending a PM to Brandon to request it will not get us anywhere. It's like (Co-Admin) going into the Admin CP and trying to change the url or something, and you'll see "Sorry, this function is available for the root admin only". Brian and Stephen will get that message, because they are Co-Admins. Brandon is the ultimate power, because he is the creator.

I have a question regarding restorations, I have my own board waiting for one and I hope they get restarted soon, but my question is more geared towards something I read in this My Board Has Been Cracked Guide.
I imagine this guide would have been drawn up a long while ago, so just wondering does the possibility of a fee still apply? And if so, is there a specific price, or does it vary depending on how much data needs to be restored? |

I'll speak to the rest of the team and see about updating that documentation. We're not quite in a position where we're ready to say what kind of restoration service we're offering at the moment. |

The state of restorations is currently on our discussion table in the staff room. We've been talking about this for a little while now, and hopefully within the coming weeks we'll have some pretty precise news to share with you all. Accurate information has been missing from this part of our service for ages, which is not fair to any of you waiting patiently. I think it's about time we tell you exactly what to expect when requesting a restoration, which types we can actually process and what the time-frame for requesting is like. Thanks for all your patience. |

There are some differences between restorations for InvisionFree and restorations for ZetaBoards. Obviously because ZetaBoards is far more flexible in terms of adding new features there will be more perks to being with this service over InvisionFree. These details will be made clearer within the coming weeks. |

So it's been a month, are we closer towards getting this news update? Don't get me wrong, my own restoration was only queued this August, I understand that there are many many others ahead of me, but then, I can always hope that they get done in one big batch like the conversions. I guess that's the sort of specifics we're waiting to get details on, so is that coming any time soon? |

Mine! Or I will help you not.

The converter was written to do the same thing for all boards that opted in: Convert it to Zetaboards. The same could be said of boards on a server that lost data from 2 weeks ago. That procedure would be putting data back for all boards from the same date and time plus, the server would be inaccessible while it was done. Think of conversions like day surgery. It takes a few hours tops. Think of restorations as patients that need a limb reattached. It takes a surgical precision to put data back without making things worse or causing trouble for other boards on that server. So a batch of restorations would put noticeable stress on the servers and almost guarantee downtime. Those that don't need a restoration and have a board on the server would be (and have in the past been) upset at the downtime caused by this stress. |

The policy has been written and reviewed by our management team. I hope that we can plug it somewhere convenient soon.
