I downloaded and installed this theme and now when I try to uninstall it I get this. I can't find the theme on the programs list, only in the place I saved the download to. Any 'elp, please? |

Install a software such as Windows Blinds or Use the Styler that comes with TuneUp Utilities which you can use to install, switch between and delete Visual Styles. |

All I need to do is activate the theme service: http://i33.tinypic.com/2hxxg75.jpg But how would I do that? I can't do a system restore because this happens: http://i35.tinypic.com/2zi7la1.jpg |

Do a Windows Repair from the installation CD. Then try the above steps if the repair itself doesn't solve your issue. EDIT: Possible virus could be at play too. Run SUPERAntiSpyware. I'm not sure how SDFix will behave on Vista. Edited by FearKiller, Nov 10 2008, 06:49 PM.

I didn't have a Windows installation CD. I bought this PC with Vista installed. But also why won't a system restore work? This seriously worries me. |

When you buy a computer with Windows installed, they usually include a reinstall disk. Unless you bought from crap HP. Then you have to make your own, but it's too late for that now. Try to run System Restore in Safe Mode and see if that works. I know with XP there is a way to do a manual System Restore "kind of." As all the restore points are in the "System Volume Information" directory. A hidden system folder on the root of C:\ If all else falls, don't forget you have the option of calling your PC manufacturer for support. Dun dun dun!! EDIT: If you have any anti-virus or third party firewall installed, make sure you disable that as well before running system restore. Edited by FearKiller, Nov 12 2008, 08:26 AM.
