I'd make the switch, but I got my skin custom, and from what I've seen, invisionfree skins don't like zetaboards too much. There's also the buttons and all the images, as well as the coding I have on the board. If there was some way to transfer all of THAT without an issue, I'd do it, since I have to admit that zetaboards is alot better (especially security wise). |

I agree with Flames...it depends on what you like. Personally, I love the professionalism and upgrades that zetaboards offer, but I feel like Invisionfree has a bit more customization(at least simple customization). I really miss the dohtml tags that Invisionfree had, because I liked having a forum with all the information needed rather than the seperate HTML pages...Unless I'm doing something incorrectly, it looks a lot more horrible to have a bunch of redirect forums or a single forum, with a single thread, with a bunch of different links. |

ZB has a lot of the new features, is more user friendly, more customizable in terms of CSS, and is much more pleasing to the eye imo. It also seems to be much more secure than the modified IPB 1.3's that IF provides (which 1.3's in general are known for security issues especially involving MySQL Injection). |

I love the look of the IF board. That is one thing that is making it really hard to think about going to ZB. I've been through hundreds of skins looking for one that is as easy on old eyes as the simplicity of the IF boards, but haven't found one. The problem with the IF board, which I already solved once, is that the editor is broken in FireFox. Having gone through numerous numerous support tickets to arrive at a solution which uses FF greasemonkey, I left my support tickets sitting too long and lost the solution. Now I have to start the search all over again on how to fix the editor problems in the IF Editor. I need something I haven't found yet. A board for old people. Simple. Easy to read. A one-color scheme without contrasting colors. Fonts that don't disappear fade in the presence of a too strong board appearance. As little noise as possible in the information that isn't needed for most people. We've taken the ads out of the IF board and it looks GREAT! But ... the editor problem is really a drag. weep weep! I built a ZB board to try out. Comparing the two is like trying to learn XP and Vista at the same time. Has left my head pretty drained. I think all would be well with the ZB, if I could only get the orange out. Especially the orange folders for the forums. Zed |

Zetaboards has many themes that can completely change the appearance of the board. A perfect example is Nicola's new summer theme. I realize that the theme guide is quite long and can be a bit hard to learn at first, so I would certainly recommend checking a few boards in our directory as many offer theme requests and can create something that suits your board: http://s1.zetaboards.com/zb/directory/?p=category&v=76 |

One thing that puts me off ZB is you can't use HTML, only BB.

You can certainly use HTML on a ZetaBoards message board; it just depends on where you want to use it. Forum descriptions and web pages are very customizable with HTML. The doHTML tag available on InvisionFree is a nightmare I wish we could be rid of. Too many administrators misuse it, or simply aren't aware of how openly vulnerable they make their forums when they enable this option for members. Broken topics, b0rked HTML and maliciously planted scripts are all things we have to deal with thanks to the doHTML tag. With the ZetaBoards service we're actively adding ways to increase our already diverse BBCode selection. Creating tables, embedding videos and formatting text in ways other forum services don't offer is what sets this service apart. |

But can't there be a way of using both on ZB? In a post I want to post an ad or something HTML only. I can't do it on ZB, but I can on IF. (Well saying as Im the admin, I could just put my ads on the footer or something XD) |
