But why not on the top? Where would the #user_profile go? Next to the #user_info, perhaps? Although on smaller resolutions, too much crammed in horizontally makes for a cluttered table. That several times over and over on a page would be rather untidy. Then, as Zaptap suggested, it just doesn't make for easy reading (we probably did say that during the beta or something but I can't remember XD). You have the option of glancing left/right to look at the user info. If you just want to read the posts, then it's easier to zip straight down, without having to scroll past a potentially crowded user cell. Honestly, having it above the post really has only two 'perks' that I can tell: - Larger area for the post to be contained in - Aesthetics. People might want it because they like it, not because it's the most usual method of displaying the user information. ZB is pretty customisable. I'm sure a coder might have a go at it. But there are reasons why Brandon/Seth never coded up the user information that way.
