A recurring topic on the support forums (and in this one especially) is help with running a board, getting members and how to keep a solid member base. So, after much consideration and a bit of work, I've decided to produce a documentation on the subject which can be found here.

I've compiled the advice, tips and whatnot from a variety of sources and my own experience and I don't intend it to be a static document piece. I'll be maintaining it and updating it as regularly as possible and I'm hoping to get you - the people who run and make up the communities - involved.

So, as stated in the document, if you'd like to offer your own ideas from your experience please do PM me. And it needn't be within the boundaries of the three existing categories (advertising, on-board functions and administration/staff) either; all ideas are more than welcome and the document can be reformatted as necessary. This can include advice on what to do, tips on things that don't work, resources, skills, viewpoints from administrators, staff and members - whatever springs to mind.
