No you can not do this for threads, but you can do this for forums. Follow these steps: 1. Make a new forum for your 'special users'. (Admin CP ›› Forum Control ›› New Forum) Fill out the forum, and once you get to the permission mask settings, make sure you don't let your normal user group view or post in the topic. Once complete, click "Create this forum." 2. Make a new permission mask for your 'special' users. (Admin CP ›› Forum Control ›› Permission Masks) Create a new permission mask -> Do not inherit -> Create -> Find the mask once the page refreshes -> Edit -> Fill out the form as you want and make sure you let the users view and post in your special forum -> Update Forum Permissions) 3. Make your special User Group. (Admin CP ›› Users and Groups ›› Manage User Groups) Add a new member group -> Base new group on...members -> Set up new Group -> Fill out the form as you wish -> Under: Use Forum Permission Access... be sure to select the permission mask you made from the list.) 4. Let Users Get Promoted Based On Posts. (Admin CP ›› Users and Groups ›› Manage User Groups) Click on the 'edit group' link next to your normal member group -> Scroll down until you get to 'Group Promotion' -> Fill out the form as you want and be sure to select your 'special group' from the drop down list -> Complete Edit) 5. You are done! |
