File Uploading in Posts; How do I enable it?

 Upload Permissions:
If you wish to allow a group to attach files (upload) when posting, you must ensure that you have completed the following:

• You have entered a reasonable numerical figure in the groups 'Max upload file size' field.
• You have edited the forum permissions for this group and checked the 'Upload' checkbox.
This allows you to control which forums this group can upload in.

Once you've ensured the above are corrected, proceed with the following:

Admin CP ›› Forum Control ›› Manage User Groups

  • Under User Group Management, next to your first group (most likely Admin), click on Edit Group
  • Under Global Settings, you'll find "POST: Max upload file size (in KB)" (3rd one down)
  • Type in a file size limit in KB (just the number). File sizes: 1,000 bytes is 1 KB, 1,000 KBs is 1 MB.
  • When you are done, click Complete Edit at bottom of the page
  • Repeat this process for every other User Group.
Now you need to make sure that your user groups have access to upload files to each forum. You can do this on a User Group basis or on a forum by forum basis.

Using Permission Masks:
Admin CP ›› Users and Groups ›› Permission Masks

  • Next to the permission mask you wish to edit (by default, these are your user groups), click on Edit
  • Check the box in the Upload column if you wish to allow them to upload files for that forum. Continue down the list until you have completed allowing access.
  • Click Update Forum Permissions when you are all done.
  • Repeat this process for every other permission mask that you have (if you wish).

An alternative to changing permission masks is through "Manage Forums"
Admin CP ›› Forum Control ›› Manage Forums

  • On the right frame: Next to your first forum, click Permissions
  • Now either place a check in the Can Upload for each individual permission mask or in All current and future permission masks row.
  • When you are done, click Edit this forum.
  • Repeat this process for every other forum you have.

Note: Pictures (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png) must be smaller than 200kb and 75kb for any other type of allowed file, unless you've purchased Extra File Space.
These limitations were put in place by InvisionFree and WILL override YOUR settings in Admin CP.
