Xanik Says "Oh"

Mod name: Xanikseo's message hider Preview: http://z3.invisionfree.com/xaniktest5/index.php?showtopic=31 Description: This is a script that allows you to hide a message in a topic, if a user has not posted in the topic. It works in conjunction with "Best BB Code Ever v2", also made by me, so if you already have that installed, refer to that topic. If you haven't got it installed, check that page out, it really is the Best BB Script Ever in my opinion (I'm not being biased). Anyway, if you don't want to use Best BB Code ever because you can't be bothered or for religious reasons or whatever, look below for installation instructions. The reason I created a whole new topic for this is: this is good enough to be a script in it's own right. Completely cross-browser, works on all internet browsers. Installation: Put this into your footer:
It's as simple as that! f you want to change the message that informs the reader that the message is hidden, change the highlighted red text. To change what the tags are between the "[" and the "]" change the highlighted green text. This code is disabled in signatures but enabled in post and poll options. To change this, change the purple number: To enable the bb code in posts, signatures and polls, enter 3, to enable the code in signatures and posts but disable it in polls enter 1. To enable it only in posts, enter 0. For more information on how to customise this go to http://if.invisionfree.com/topic/333298/1/ Edited by Xanikseo, Oct 12 2008, 11:41 AM.

Hey man, I had one problem. The tags got added, but when someone replys, nothing happens. Can you make it works? Or it's a problem with my codes? Thanks! Farewell~ |

I love this code so much! I've been looking for a code that works, and this does it! Question, does this code have any disadvantages, like say, if the user eases the board's cookies, would they have to reply again to see the same post?

It says how to do that in the first post. With the green highlighted text.
No, it doesn't use cookies, it just checks who has posted in the topic and if the user has, they will see the hidden message. ![]() |
