.tk domains load the page within a frame, which the shoutbox does not like. I recommend having a script to check for the .tk domain, and have it convert it to your standard board url.

If anyone wants it floating:

Code:

<style type="text/css">#shoutbox{width:100%;text-align:left; position:fixed;}
#shoutcontent{height:150px;overflow:auto;}
.smallpost{font-size:10px;font-family:Verdana;}</style>
<script language="JavaScript">
// Operation Settings
var shoutboxfid='Put_Forum_NUMBER_Here';
var shoutboxtid='Put_Topic_NUMBER_Here';
// Basic Settings
var indexonly='0';
var guestvisible='1';
var guestshouts='1';
var viewlink='0';
var modlink='1';
var enablebb='1';
var toptobottom='0';
// Advanced Settings
var topclass='maintitle';
var textlength='100%';
</script><div id="jumpfix"></div>

It should only display edit/delete, and only when the user had that ability; can you link me to the board you're having this trouble on?

Hey there,

Is there a way to add the shoutbox as a sidebar (http://if.invisionfree.com/topic/343308/1/)?

edit:/ Okay, no need in this anymore.

Could someone please help?

I have successfully installed this shoutbox and had access to it, until I changed my user name.

I uninstalled it, then restored it again from scratch, I can still see it, but when I try to shout I am getting a message saying 'You dont have permission to shout.'

I can only shout via the shoutbox topic ..but not directly into the shoutbox itself. :-/

Could someone please advise me?

A very interesting error, to be honest first I've heard of one like that. You could try starting a new shoutbox topic and see if that helps. What browser do you use? If you use IE, try to shout and if it doesn't allow you, see if there's and error in the bottom left corner.

Heya, sup? I just tried this and I'm totally amazed at how well it works.

My question is this, is it possible to change the height of the shoutbox? Or like... can I edit it so that my name and the date I posted appear on the same line?... I guess maybe I'd have to edit the code but would it work if I uploaded it elsewhere?

EDIT:
also I'm sure it's been asked but there's a lot of stuff in this topic... is ther ea way to make it refresh whenever anyone makes a post and not just you?

I'm using this code for my 2 forums. the code works in forum no. 1 perfectly. but the members of forum no.2 told me that they can't see the shoutbox at all. I used my test account in the boards, and i can see the shoutbox. I even removed the permission mask so that guests can see the shoutbox. but still, the members can't see it. how is that possible?

Did you make sure that you have 2 different shout topics? or are you using the same topic and forum #?
