By Default, your board starts with five User Groups. Four of these groups are of some importance, and it is vital that you know more about them before making changes to their settings. Admin (ROOT) The ROOT Admin group is the group that the board creator starts in. All members in this group will have ACP access. Click Here to read more about ROOT Admins. This group cannot be deleted. Banned By default, this is just a group that does not have permission to view the board or post anywhere on it. However, you can edit the settings for this group as it is of no special importance. This group can be deleted. Guests This is the group that all non-registered visitors to your board will automatically be put in. The settings of this group apply for all users who will visit your board without logging in. This group cannnot be deleted. Note: It is recommended that you do not move any registered member to this group. Validating If E-mail validation or Admin validation is enabled on your board, then all newly registered members will be moved to this group automatically. Their accounts will need to be validated by either e-mail validation or admin validation (as specified). Keep this in mind while making changes to this group. This group cannnot be deleted. Members If validation is disabled on your board, then all newly registered members will be moved to this group. If validation is enabled, then all members whose accounts are validated by email or admin validation will automatically move to this group. Keep this in mind while making changes to this group. This group cannnot be deleted. Therefore, when you create a system of custom usergroups, please keep in mind the functions of the default user groups since these functions are default and cannot be changed. |
