New Skin? Step by Step! If you're reading this, then I can tell you, installing a skin is alot easier than you probably thought.. Step 1: Open up your Admin CP and visit Skinning & Styles > Manage Style Sheets. Step 2: Delete the CSS coding currently there. (Thats your style sheet btw). Step 3: Copy (Ctrl + C) the CSS Style Sheet code of the skin you like. And then Paste (Ctrl + V) it into your Manage Style Sheets box. Step 4: Click the Edit CSS button and voila. New skin added. Unfortunately you cannot add more than one style sheet, however, I can recommend you check out the Skin Selectors and Avatar Galleries section of the Code Index. ########### The rest of the steps are optional ############ Step 5 (Images): To install the images, you'd most likey, first, have to upload them to your own webspace. In order to host images for use on your boards, your webhost needs to allow remote file linking (Hot linking). It can be tricky finding a decent host who allows this but I suggest http://lycos.co.uk & http://angelfire.com. Step 6: Once the images are all uploaded to your webhost, you need to grab the URL's to them (Right click the images and select Properties). Step 7: Now that we have all the images URL's, we can begin adding them. I suggest you thouroughly read through this topic to learn how to add your images. |
