The need for a rating system has been under-requested, and it's usually only the exciting/useful/popular ideas that make it through to official features. If a smaller group of people started requesting this it could potentially become a Premium feature... maybe. We haven't heard anything from Brandon that would suggest he's working on a rating system for posts. The only problem is that a decent post-rating feature should require PHP. 90% of ZB users probably don't know anything about PHP, and wouldn't know how to set a script up that requires it. Back when I made a shout box that used the forum to store shouts (using only JavaScript), I had hundreds of PMs by users asking for help in using the script. It's just not something you can expect everyone to be able to wrap their heads around. Topic- and post-rating features would be a nice, optional addition to any board -- especially if you were able to enable them only in specific forums. I could see galleries and whatnot benefiting from them quite a bit.
