I think it does. Sitting on the right side of the car on the left side of the road gives you a greater range of vision.

Regardless, I'm not sure about family, but last I checked you need a darn good reason to move to the states. Like taking a job. I don't think you can simply say 'Oooh I want to go live in the US :D '.
Why a greater range of vision? Sitting on the right side traveling on the left side is the same as sitting on the left side traveling on the right side. I think? ^o)

Oh, and go get a passport and just go live with your relatives. I don't know if there is a limit on how long you can stay in the US with a passport, so why get citizenship? Unless you want of course. :$
