One particular program caught about half the files I had so I switched to another and formatted my computer a few months ago. I got curious about this, because that program couldn't do any other action with many of the files. Would they still be dangerous if you physically went into the chest folder? Usually if the file is removed from its original location, it cripples the file rendering it useless because when the computer goes to look for the file in one location, it is no longer there. It's recommended that you clear the chest every so often. If your computer has not given you problems after a file has been moved to the chest say one or two months ago, then it's considered safe to delete that file permanently.
